MAKO LENS INNOVATION

Mako sunglasses fitted with glass polarised lenses and Polycarbonate polarised lenses have an AR (anti-reflective) coating applied to the back of the lens which reduces the amount of bounce back glare. Applied on top of the AR coating is the olephobic coating, this gives the lens extra protection also making the lens more repellent to grease, finger prints, dust and makes them easier to clean.

Mako models fitted with glass polarised lenses are 20% lighter in weight than standard glass polarised lenses. A light weight option in optically correct glass polarised sunglasses.

Mako offers a number of lenses all specially suited to different conditions or just personal preference.

ZRX LENSES - This neutral grey polarised glass lens offers the highest glare reduction available. It is chemically toughened, durable and has a high scratch resistance. Recommended for all light conditions especially bright direct sunlight.

PRX LENSES - Impact resistance and lightweight polycarbonate polarised lenses make this lens the perfect choice for an active lifestyle. This lens system is designed for performance and durability and is virtually shatter proof.

MAKO POLARISED LENS MATERIAL

There are three types of lens material used in the production of Mako sunglasses. All lenses are polarised but sunglasses are fitted with different types of lenses to suit the style of the frame and the potential uses for the sunglass. Mako sunglasses are fitted with either glass polarised, polycarbonate polarised, NXT® polarised or the new NXT® Polar Varia (polarised Photochromatic) lenses.
