Lens Materials

Polycarbonate

The most common lens material is polycarbonate. Polycarbonate is light in weight and one of the strongest impact-resistant lenses available.

CR-39

CR-39 Lenses have a better optical clarity compared to a polycarbonate lens. They remain lightweight and are slightly more scratch-resistant than a polycarbonate lens.

Glass

Glass lenses are the most scratch-resistant and offer the highest optical clarity. Although slightly heavier than plastic lenses, they have become much lighter over the years. All layers are within the lens, preventing peeling or flaking over time.

G15

G15 lenses are a type of sunglass lens originally developed by Ray-Ban, known for their greenish tint that offers a natural vision experience. These lenses effectively filter out 85% of visible light while blocking most blue light, providing excellent clarity and comfort in bright conditions without distorting colours.
