Released 36 years after the original movie took the world by storm, the much-anticipated Top Gun: Maverick movie sequel hit cinemas in late May 2022 and has since sent movie fanatics and Top Gun fans abuzz. Action-packed and suspense-filled, the long-waited sequel stars Tom Cruise as Captian Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, sharing the screen with a star-studded cast that join Cruise in a mission to confront the ghosts of his past.

When most think of Top Gun, we think of Navy bases, Military uniforms and of course, Pilot sunglasses. Famously worn by Cruise in the original movie, the Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses have become synonymous with the blockbuster film with many fondly referring to the Ray-Ban style as an emblem of pop culture. It wouldn't be a Top Gun movie without Ray-Ban's sported by the cast; we've rounded up the Top Gun sunglasses we spotted throughout the film so you can steal their look.

As iconic as they come, US Naval Aviator and the protagonist of the film, Maverick, sports Ray-Ban's Aviator Classic sunglasses. In true pilot fashion, Maverick's sunglasses feature a classic gold metal frame with dark green lenses. Not just a purely cosmetic choice, the original Aviator was created using a green glass lens rather than a grey tint as this colour helped cut out blue light, a prominent lighting issue for pilots flying above the cloud line. Truly timeless and exceptionally well made, the Ray-Ban Aviator remains one of the brand's most popular styles with movie creds as a bonus.

A modern take on the classic Wayfarer style from the 50s, the New Wayfarer is slightly smaller in lens length and less angular than its predecessor. Both Wayfarer styles have stood the test of time and remain as popular as ever.
